Ballesteros makes '90% recovery'

Ballesteros's health problems began last October

Golf legend Seve Ballesteros says he is "recovered 90%" and is hitting golf balls again after undergoing extensive treatment for a brain tumour.

The 52-year-old five-time major winner has had four operations and recently made his first public appearance since the start of his treatment.

"Now I am perfect, I can do any kind of sport, running, swimming, rowing and I am also hitting golf shots," he said.

"The fact that I was a sportsman and used to competing and fighting helped."

Ballesteros admitted he had "suffered like a dog" during his illness and will need to undergo a fifth round of chemotherapy, but his condition is improving.

"The results of my last tests at La Paz Hospital in Madrid showed I was on the right path," he said.

"I will go on working to get better each day."
