Darren Crowe will take on Andrew Morris in the last 16

Ulster pair Paul Cutler and Darren Crowe are through to the third round of the North of Ireland Amateur Championship at Royal Portrush.

Portstewart player Cutler beat Alan Daly 3&2 in Wednesday's second round while Crowe of Dunmurry won 4&3 against American Mark Gaynor.

The leading qualifiers from the strokeplay rounds are all out.

Jonathan Caldwell and Dara Lernihan were first-round casualties while Conor Doran was defeated in the second round.

Clandeboye man Caldwell was beaten 2&1 by James Stevenson of the host club.

Lernihan suffered a one hole defeat by Fergal Rafferty of Dungannon while Doran lost out 4&3 to Westport's Cahal O'Malley.

Graeme McDowell's younger brother Gary is also out after losing 4&3 to Crowe in the first round.
