Lincolnshire golfer Paul Streeter has missed the cut at the PGA Championship at Wentworth by one stroke, despite a level-par second round of 72. After a first-round eagle at the 12th, Streeter hit a triple bogey in round two, but rallied with two birdies at the 16th and 18th holes. "I missed the fairway [on the 12th] and then went into a hazard," he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire. "I've been pleased with my game but one bad hole has scuppered my plans." Streeter says any negative thoughts after taking eight shots at the 12th were soon put to one side. "The initial thought was 'Well that's it', but I hit a good drive off the next tee and thought 'Hang on, I only need two or three birdies and I'm still I with a chance'." And although he ended on two over par after 36 holes, finishing ahead of the likes of Colin Montgomerie, Ernie Els and Jose-Maria Olazabal was of little consolation. "It's no good beating them if they've missed the cut and I've missed it as well," he admitted. "I'd rather be beating them when they've all made the cut, that would mean a lot more."
