Martin Kaymer set his sights firmly on a first European Tour victory as he maintained a six-stroke lead with his first bogey-free round in Abu Dhabi.
Rookie of the year Kaymer carded a four-under-par 68 in the third round to move to 17 under overall.
England's Anthony Wall headed the chasing pack at 11 under after a flawless 65, the joint-second best of the day alongside Lee Westwood.
Henrik Stenson's third-round 69 put him level with Lee Westwood at nine under.
Kaymer, 23, stormed out of the blocks, reeling off back-to-back birdies to extend his cushion over playing partner Stenson to seven, although he could only add two more birdies on the back nine.
"I will just continue to stick to my game plan and see what happens," said Kaymer.
"I felt a little nervous when I started but I had a really good start and that settled me down and gave me a lot of confidence for the next 16 holes."
 | If Martin wins he will probably deserve it as he has led from start to finish, but he has a lot of golf left |
Wall, whose only European Tour victory came at the 2000 Alfred Dunhill Championship, knows he has a difficult task in chasing down Kaymer on the final day.
"If I am all this way out here away from my wife and my boys I am going to try my hardest when I am here," he said.
"I knuckled down over the winter and worked hard on the areas of my game that I thought I needed to and I am looking forward to a good season.
"If Martin wins he will probably deserve it as he has led from start to finish, but he has a lot of golf left."
Luke Donald was equally as impressive in moving to five under after a bogey-free 67, moving a shot clear of Colin Montgomerie and Simon Dyson.
Montgomerie is currently 19 but has targeted a top-10 finish this week to break back into the world's top 50 in order to be able to secure his place at April's Masters.
