Darren Clarke is aiming to produce another good performance in South Africa when he plays in the Joburg Open which starts on Thursday. The Northern Ireland star finished in a tie for third place at the South African Airways Open in December.
Ballyclare's Gareth Maybin and Michael Hoey of Belfast are also in the field.
"Right now my game is probably as good as it been for a long number of years. My ball striking is getting better and better," said Clarke.
"I always enjoy my trips to South Africa, and cannot wait to play.
"I have worked hard over Christmas, and am looking forward to getting my year off to a fast start and putting myself into the Ryder Cup picture."
