Seve Ballesteros
Ballesteros is the European side's captain
Next week's Royal Trophy between Asia and Europe in Bangkok has been postponed because of the death of Thai Princess Galyani Vadhana.

The princess, 84, is the elder sister of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and passed away on Wednesday.

The Thai government announced a 15-day mourning period and asked that festive activities be suspended out of respect.

Ryder Cup stars Darren Clarke, Paul McGinley and David Howell were all scheduled to represent Europe.

Robert Karlsson, Graeme Storm, Niclas Fasth, Gregory Havret, Anders Hansen, Raphael Jacquelin were also included.

The Ryder Cup-style tournament was due to be played from 11-13 January at the Amata Springs Country Club but will be rescheduled for a later date.

The event is in its third year and has been won by Seve Ballesteros' European Team on the previous two occasions.
