Paula Creamer shot a round of 68 to seal victory in the LPGA Tournament of Champions having led from the start. The American's four-under par closing effort left her at 20-under - eight strokes better than Korean Birdie Kim.
A final-hole bogey prevented Creamer from matching the 72-hole mark in the event set in 2006 by Lorena Ochoa.
England's Karen Stupples continued her return to form following the birth of her son, Logan, in April with a closing 69 to finish in equal tenth place.
It was Creamer's fourth career LPGA victory and her first since this year's opener in February at Hawaii.
The 21-year-old, who led by six strokes going into the final day, did not have a a bogey after the ninth hole in the first round until the 72nd hole.
Kim also fired a 68 to take second on 276, two strokes ahead of Americans Natalie Gulbis and Pat Hurst and Sweden's Annika Sorenstam.
