Stewart Ginn goes into the final round of the Senior Open Championship at Muirfield with a one-shot lead after a two-under-par third round of 69.
Two-time Senior Open champion Tom Watson is one behind him, with Mark O'Meara a further two shots adrift.
Gordon Brand is the best-placed Briton on two over, two ahead of Nick Faldo.
Faldo had led after the first round on his seniors debut, but his 75 left him seven shots off the lead and probably too far back to win.
Ginn, joint second overnight, dropped two shots at the start but recovered with four birdies to end the day three under for the tournament.
Ginn said the key to success was showing patience in blustery conditions.
"The course is a brute and you have to be patient with it," he said.
"You have to be focused out here because there is only long grass and bunkers if you miss the fairway."
