Conwy Golf Club will provide a stunning setting for the event |
Ryder Cup heroes Sam Torrance and Costantino Rocca will be in a strong field competing at this week's Wales Seniors Open at Conwy GC (15-18 June). Torrance was beaten by a shot in last year's event by Spain's Jos Rivero, who will be back to defend his title.
Rocca climbed to second on the order of merit after winning his first seniors title in Ireland earlier this month.
With a prize fund of 500,000, the Wales Open is the second most lucrative event on the European Seniors Tour.
Rocca, who qualified for the tour when he turned 50 last December, said: "The Ryder Cup Wales Seniors Open is set to be my fourth appearance as a senior.
"I have played five times in the Celtic Manor Wales Open on the European Tour and always enjoyed my trips to Wales.
"The seniors tournaments may be different, but the desire to win is just as strong."
