Darren Clarke has been struggling to find his form |
Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell both missed the halfway cut at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth on Friday. Clarke fired a second round 76 to lie four over par and McDowell ended on five over after carding a 75.
Angel Cabrera and Justin Rose are joint leaders on eight under, one ahead of Ross Fisher and Marcus Fraser and two ahead of Padraig Harrington and others.
Harrington recorded a 69 while Paul McGinley and Peter Lawrie were the only other Irish players to make the cut.
McGinley is one under following a 69 and Lawrie is one over after also registering a second round 69 on Friday.
Among those who missed the cut, Damien McGrane was three over, Gary Murphy four over and Simon Thornton eight over.
Harrington stands to win a one million euros bonus if he adds the PGA crown to the Irish Open title he won last week.
