-3 L Davies (Eng)Karrie Webb fired a final round of 66 to deny Annika Sorenstam an LPGA record sixth straight Mizuno Classic title.
The Australian, who started one stroke behind overnight leader Momoko Ueda, carded six birdies to reach 14 under par and seal her fifth win of 2007.
Sweden's Sorenstam tied for third, four strokes off the pace, after a 70 in the final round left her at nine under.
Home golfer Kaori Higo took second on 10 under at the Kashikojima Country Club in Mie, Japan.
Sorenstam won her first Mizuno title in 2001 at Musashigaoka and took the last four at Seta.
That made her the first LPGA Tour player to win a tournament five straight times and matched the tour record she shares with Mickey Wright for victories in an event.
But Sorenstam, 36, struggled with her short game in the final round and had bogeys on the second and 12th holes.
Webb said: "You can't take anything away from Annika - it's an unbelievable feat to win a tournament five years in a row
"I just wanted to make as many birdies as possible. It was very close at the turn but I had a fantastic back nine."
Britain's Laura Davies finished in a tie for 32nd on three under after going round in par on the final day.
