 | I had lots of
chances but the putter is just not working |
The 34-year-old, who ended his round with a 43-foot putt from off the green, had just 23 putts in his round.
"The putts have certainly dropped for me the first two days," he said.
"I feel like I can play better but then I would hole less putts."
Clarke, who dropped two shots in the opening four holes, recovered for a level-par round but admitted his putting was out of sorts.
"I am delighted with the way I am hitting the ball from tee to green," said the 38-year-old, who is playing his first tournament since the death of his wife last month.
"I only missed four fairways and five greens again today. I had lots of
chances but the putter is just not working."
