Rory McIlroy was beaten in his afternoon singles game |
Ireland completed a miserable men's Home Internationals at Porthcawl with defeat to hosts Wales on Friday. The Irish had already lost to England and Scotland before going down 8-7 to the Welsh on the final day.
Ireland led 3-2 after the morning foursomes but Wales hit back to claim six points in the afternoon singles.
Holywood's Rory McIlroy lost and Gareth Shaw halved his game but their were victories for Ulster's Darren Crowe and Jonathan Caldwell.
