Rain halts Wie third-round debut
Michelle Wie in action in South Korea
Wie's ambition is to challenge the men's PGA Tour in the US
Michelle Wie must wait to make her third-round debut in a men's event after rain washed out the SK Telecom Open in South Korea on Saturday.

The 16-year-old American was at the tee when officials declared the heavily waterlogged course unplayable.

The event has now been shortened to three rounds but Wie wants to make the most of her first cut in a male field when play resumes on Sunday.

"I'll try and play another solid round. If I play well that's great," said Wie.

The Hawaii-born teenager became the first woman since Se Ri Pak in 2003 to make the halfway cut at a South Korean event after shooting 70 and 69 to move to five under.

The experience will be vital to Wie as she bids to qualify for the men's US Open. She failed to get through a qualifying event in Hawaii at her first attempt last year.
