Paul Lawrie's second successive 70 moved him one shot behind leader Henrik Stenson at a storm-hit Asian Open. The Scot surged into contention before lightning halted play in Shanghai and forced some players, including Stenson, to complete their rounds on Saturday.
Swede Stenson fired three birdies and bogeys, but led on five under after eventually completing his second round.
Colin Montgomerie was four shots off the pace, the same score as Paul Casey, while Nick Faldo missed the cut.
Faldo managed only one birdie to go with a double bogey and four bogeys in a disastrous five-over 77.
Having carded a 74 on Thursday, the six-time major-winner was seven over for 36 holes.
At the other end of the leaderboard, Lawrie collected birdies on the seventh, ninth, 13th and 18th holes but bogeyed the fifth and 14th holes to return one of the best rounds around the par-72 Tomson Golf Club.
Stenson got out of bed early on Saturday to complete his round and promptly missed a 12-foot birdie putt on the 18th to settle for par and retain his one-shot lead.
Tied for third were Ireland's Peter Lawrie, Danny Chia of Malaysia, Filipino Frankie Minoza and Portugal's Jose-Filipe Lima on three under for the tournament.
There was disappointment for the home fans as their top hope Zhang Langwei missed the cut by three shots.
Five players failed to re-start their rounds on Saturday and were disqualified.
