 | KRAFT NABISCO C'SHIP US unless stated -5 Jones, Sorenstam (Swe) -4 Kim (SKorea) -3 Park (SKorea), Rankin -2 Kerr |
World number one Annika Sorenstam fired a 69 to share the lead with American Rosie Jones after the second round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship. The Swede will begin the third round on five-under, a shot ahead of South Korea's Mi-Hyun Kim and two better than Reilley Rankin and Grace Park.
England's Karen Stupples watched her hopes of a second major title evaporate with a second round 80.
"I three-putted the first two. That was not the start I wanted," she said.
Sorenstam was delighted with her efforts but also veered towards cautious optimism.
"I am very happy with my position but there is a long way to go," she said.
"It's the weekend that counts. I am pleased with the way I am hitting the ball and my putting is also good, but golf is a funny game. Today I started slowly and then got going.
"Now I just have to try and be patient and not get ahead of myself."
England's Laura Davies, shot a 71 for level par 144, and is five behind the leaders going into the final 36 holes.
