 Woods will be the main draw in China |
Tiger Woods is to head an elite field at the inaugural HSBC Champions event in Shanghai from 10-13 November. In addition to Woods, the event will bring together winners from four golf tours, matching them with the best players in the official world rankings.
The �2.7m purse will be the largest in Asia and over double of what has been offered in any golf event in China to date, claim organisers.
The tournament takes place at the Sheshan International Golf Club.
Among those already qualified are Ernie Els, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Nick
Dougherty, Paul Casey, Adam Scott, Steve Webster, Thomas Bjorn and Angel
Cabrera.
The event will be co-sanctioned by The European Tour, Asian Tour, the PGA Tour of Australasia, the Sunshine (Southern Africa) Tour and the China Golf Association.
