Luke Donald
Chicago-based Donald is hungry for major glory
America's Tiger Woods and Chris DiMarco and Britain's Luke Donald have been paired together for the opening two rounds of the US Open at Pinehurst.

The trio - first, second and third respectively at last month's Masters - will tee off at 1244 BST from the 10th tee in next Thursday's first round.

World number one Vijay Singh tees off late at 1810, with Irishman Padraig Harrington and American Bart Bryant.

Ernie Els, playing with Justin Leonard and Shigeki Maruyama, starts at 1222.

Paul Casey also starts early (1255) as does fellow Briton Jonathan Lomas who is in the first group (1200).

Scot Colin Montgomerie, who squeezed into the event at 50th in the world last week, has Americans Tim Herron and twice winner Lee Janzen for company, and starts his campaign at 1759 BST.

Lomas, joint winner of the first qualifier to be staged in Europe on Monday, is making his debut in the major, while Casey is paired with Americans Jeff Maggert and Jerry Kelly.
