Todd Hamilton has shot up from 58th to 15th in the US Ryder Cup points list following his victory at the Open. Hamilton lies 54.143 points behind 10th-placed Jeff Maggert, who sits in the last automatic qualifying position.
In the European points list, England's Lee Westwood is top after recording his best-ever finish at the Open.
Frenchman Thomas Levet is fourth, while in the world list Sergio Garcia and Padraig Harrington are first and second despite poor showings at Royal Troon.
The Ryder Cup takes place at Oakland Hills, Michigan, from 14-19 September.
European captain Bernhard Langer will take the leading five players from the Ryder Cup world list, the top five from the Ryder Cup European list, and two wildcard selections of his own.

US captain Hal Sutton must take the top 10 on the US PGA list, and may have to take Hamilton into consideration for one of his two wildcard picks That is presuming the Open champion does not keep up his fine form and make it into the top 10.
"I haven't thought about it," admitted Hamilton.
"I hadn't played well for three or four months and I don't even look at the standings.
"I know Tiger is usually top and all the other normal guys that are on the team are always up there, but I don't even know what the standings are.
"Hopefully this bit of magic will continue."
