Vijay Singh will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the 84 Lumber Classic in Pennsylvania as he eyes a third straight win this month. The world number one carded a level-par 72 to stay ahead of American Ryder Cup star Chris DiMarco (71).
Jonathan Byrd and Matt Gogel were tied on nine under with two more players, Zach Johnson and Kent Jones, another shot further adrift.
American Ryder Cup wildcard Stewart Cink shot 67 to climb to seven under.
England's Justin Rose handed in a 71 to reach four under with Spain's former Masters champion Jose-Maria Olazabal on three under.
Former Open champion Ben Curtis, who was just two strokes behind Singh after the second round, slumped to a nine-over 81.
The 41-year-old Singh, the USPGA champion, is chasing his fifth win in sixth tournaments and eighth of the season.
He played the front nine at the Mystic Rock course in two under par but struggled after the turn and dropped shots at the 11th and par-three 17th to allow DiMarco a glimmer of hope.
"I didn't play as well as I did the first two days," said Singh.
"My rhythm wasn't there. I was struggling to find it all day. But I still lead by two, so I'm not that disappointed."
