Britain's Barry Lane fired a flawless third-round 67 to claim a share of the lead going into the final round of the Caltex Masters in Singapore. Veteran Lane carded five birdies at Laguna National for a 13-under-par total of 203, a score matched by American Greg Hanrahan.
Singapore's Mardan Mamat was two shots behind in third with Colin Montgomerie sharing fourth.
The Scot needs a good finish to qualify for next week's Players Championship.
Lane joined the European Tour in 1982 and has spent more than half of his 43 years treading the golf courses of the world.
The Caltex Masters is his 496th Tour event and in a few weeks time he will become only the 10th player to reach the milestone of 500.
Lane, who won the last of his four career titles in 1994, said: "I can't believe it's been that long but it's tough to win out here.
"It was tough in the 90s with the likes of Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Ian Woosnam and Jose Maria Olazabal at the tops of their games, and it's still tough now.
"John Daly won this year after almost 10 years and Mark O'Meara won the Open in 1998 but hadn't won since until a couple of weeks ago in Dubai. It would mean a lot to win again."
Monty takes positives
Montgomerie matched Lane's error-free 67 but was disappointed not to have edged even closer to the lead.
"It should have been a few better," said the 40-year-old.
"The last three holes the putts just shaved the edges. I needed at least one more birdie and I played plenty well enough.
"The positives are that I've only made one bogey all week, one stupid mistake, and it's dangerous out there."
