Comedian Johnny Vegas is to provide some heavyweight humour at rugby league's World Club Challenge final.

The funnyman will be announcing the teams for the Valentine's Day clash between Tetley's Super League Champions St Helens and their Australian counterparts, Sydney Roosters.

Vegas, who is a huge fan of Saints, will also be entertaining the crowd at Bolton's Reebok Stadium in his own inimitable style.

He will become the first stand-up artist to hold court at such an event, although the game has witnessed several comedy performances on the pitch over the years.

A sports commentator is set to make history on Saturday by delivering his first live broadcast on a basketball game - despite the fact he's blind.

Wenger looks the other way - again

Ryan Kuro is to take charge of the mike for the Western Illinois University clash with Valparaiso, but doesn't see it as a big deal.

"I'm just another person doing it, I just happen to be blind," he explained.

"I don't even see this as unique. I'm just another person doing what I love to do."

Ryan, who has been blind since birth, will provide the 'colour', giving information about the players and the atmosphere.

He will rely on the play-by-play announcer for the scores and descriptions of moves.

Which begs the question, what's Arsene Wenger's excuse for missing all those controversial incidents?
