Funny old round-up
BBC Sport Online picks out some of the quirky, offbeat or plain daft stories doing the rounds.

Potter mania

Harry Potter is doing his best to save cash-strapped Bradford City.

The release of the second Potter movie has seen a massive rise in the number of scarves sold by the club.

The colours on the scarves bear a striking resemblance to those worn by the wizards at Hogwarts, the fictional school from JK Rowling's Potter series.

In the past, the club shop has sold just 100 scarves a month but sales have rocketed to 10,000 in the last year alone.

Barbara Ali, who works at the shop, told the Sun newspaper: "Kids ask straight away for our Harry Potter scarves. We can't save them quick enough."

Ell Tell tale

With Christmas looming, every commercially-minded person is trying to think of ways of making money from the festive season.

Football is no stranger, with a string of items for sale linked to the beautiful game.

Among the latest hot items are Manchester United earrings and West Ham United door mats.

There are some though that have only been produced on a limited edition basis - in particular some fetching cufflinks for the Elland Road faithful.

The pair have the words Ell Tell emblazoned on them, but it looks likely the manufacturers will not be putting in an order for a new batch unless Leeds can turn around their form.

Schumi ban

Formula One racer Ralf Schumacher could be banned from driving for life.

Schumacher could lose his licence for good
The German driver has just been caught for speeding again - doing 80mph in a 30mph zone.

The police officers who pulled him over took some convincing that they had the right man.

Only the production of his insurance documents revealed his identity and paved the way for his potential life ban.
