Tom Gallichan won gold in a new Jeux des Isles record time |
Jersey won two more gold medals at the Jeux des Isles in Guadeloupe, West Indies on Tuesday. Gemma Dawkins won the island's first ever gold medal on the track as she claimed victory in the 400m. In the pool, Tom Gallichan won gold in the 200m backstroke, while Jersey also won five silver medals during the day. Gallichan broke the event record as he won in a time of two minutes and 12.51 seconds to add to the gold won on Monday by Charlotte Manning. "It's awesome," said Gallichan. "It was a great swim but I was 0.4sec off the junior island record so I'm a bit disappointed.
