There is a collective sigh of relief in Wednesday's newspapers as the Zimbabwe saga looks to be nearing an end.

THE HEADLINES
The Sun:
'WE DO WANT RON, RON, WE DO WANT RON'
Daily Mirror: 'VAN GOES BRRRUM!'
Daily Star:
'I'LL STAY BUT LET'S SORT OUT PAY - VIEIRA'
Daily Mail:
'VICTOR VIDUKA'
Daily Express:
'MOB OUT TO GET RID'
The Guardian:
'ENGLAND'S PLAYERS GIVEN BACKING FOR WORLD CUP SWITCH'
The Times:
'ECB TAKES STAND OVER HARARE AND LIFTS BURDEN FROM PLAYERS'
The Daily Telegraph:
'ECB SUPPORT HUSSAIN OVER ZIMBABWE'

The Daily Telegraph says the cancellation of England's match in Harare is a "foregone conclusion" after the ECB made a formal request for the venue to be changed.

Any attempt by the ICC to send the players after their employers admit the venue is unsafe would be "unthinkable".

All the papers are in agreement that the match will be moved, although The Guardian does say Nasser Hussain remains cautious about the forthcoming ICC decision.

Back in the more straightforward world of football the talk is, as usual, about money.

The Sun claims that Arsenal plan to hijack Manchester United's bid for Brazil World Cup star Ronaldinho with an 11m offer of their own.

Ronaldinho's arrival could surely prove the final straw for David Seaman, who may not want to see the Brazilian every morning at training after the World Cup embarrassment.

The same paper reveals that Teddy Sheringham is in line for another lucrative contract extension.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star says Arsenal will not offer Patrick Vieira much of a pay rise when he negotiates his next contract in the summer.

Lee Bowyer could be reunited with Jonathan Woodgate at Newcastle at the end of the season, according to the Daily Mirror.

And after a tough week, Terry Venables is given the chance to let off steam as The Times writes its own musical for the man from Dagenham.

Song titles such as "You've got to flog a player or two, "If I were a rich club" and "Who will buy my beautiful forward" get the message across.
