Your Game FAQs
Your Game

What is Your Game?

It is a unique nationwide street football competition organised by the BBC designed to provide new opportunities for young people from socially disadvantaged groups in society.

The inaugural tournament was held in 2006.

Who's involved?

Your Game is a partnership between the BBC and the Football Foundation, with support from Barclays Spaces for Sport. It also works very closely with the FA, the Premier League.

How many teams are involved?

There are 400 teams taking part over the course of two months at 10 qualifying rounds from across the country. Click on the link to find out where and when:

Each venue will have 40 teams competing.

The winners of each regional round - one boys and one girls team - will qualify for the Your Game final.

A further two teams will also qualify for the final as the "Fair Play" winners.

Can I enter my team?

Your Game is only open to teams who have been invited to compete, so if your team has not received an invitation to take part, then unfortunately you will not be able to play.

Why?

Your Game is for people and teams who would not usually get the opportunity to play in an organised football tournament or team environments.

The idea is to unlock potential from socially excluded backgrounds and cultures and give them another opportunity to really flourish.

Where are the finals?

The finals - boys and girls - will take place at a special yet-to-be-announced venue sometime in July. More details to follow soon.

What else can I do at the events?

Loads. BBC's 1Xtra and Asian Network will be holding DJing and emceeing competitions and masterclasses for players and volunteers throughout the tournament in their studios.

Radio Five Live will be at each festival giving advice and tips to all wannabe commentators, as well as offering the opportunity to do your own impression of John Motson or Alan Green.

And the FA will be offering free coaching and refereeing courses for Your Game players and coaches.
