El Hadji Diouf is determined to succeed on Merseyside |
African Footballer of the Year El Hadji Diouf talks to World Football's Osasu Obayiuwana and says he wants to become 'bigger than the Beatles' in Liverpool... "Winning this award is a great honour for me, Senegal and Africa" says Diouf.
"It's great to be considered amongst such African legends as Abedi Pele, who I saw playing many, many times. To be part of that group is a dream come true.
"I am my own man, and I have my own personality" the controversial star went on.
"I enjoy life and having fun. What's important is that I love my fans and take football very seriously. When I am on the field I always do my best. As long as my friends and family are behind me that's all I need. Like everyone else I am just a normal human being.
"I want to succeed at Liverpool. I think the club has a fantastic future, the whole club is amazing. I love it there - I want to be as good as the Beatles!"
