Poland coach Pawel Janas has resigned after a disappointing World Cup. Group A defeats against Ecuador and Germany ensured Poland were the first team to exit the tournament.
"Janas will not be the coach any more," said Ryszard Czarnecki, head of the Polish Football Association's (PZPN) international division.
Janas had been due to meet the PZPN on 14 July to discuss his future, but he has opted to resign rather than wait for an official decision.
Polish media and fans have been calling for Janas's head since their early departure from the World Cup.
The Poles play the first games in a European Championship qualifying group including Belgium, Serbia and Montenegro and Portugal at the beginning of September.
