Janas has come in for much criticism after Poland's exit

Group A defeats against Ecuador and Germany made the Poles the first team to be eliminated, but Janas has rejected calls for his resignation.

"This World Cup isn't over for us. We have to face the game with Costa Rica and then do the analysis," he said.

"We will draw our conclusions but we will do so internally."

Media reports in Poland say former Wisla Krakow, Ivory Coast and Tunisia manager Henryk Kasperczak, who is currently the national coach for Senegal, is favourite to take over from Janas.

But the storm of criticism that followed the team's failure has clearly upset some of the players as well as the coach.

"You are not helping us with all your reports and your questions," experienced midfielder Jacek Krzynowek told a journalist.

"We have to prepare for the last game, so let us do our job."
