World Cup finalists Ghana held Turkey to a 1-1 draw in a pre-World Cup friendly in the German town of Bochum on Friday.

The 2002 World Cup semi-finalists took the lead after 17 minutes thanks to a strike by their Spain-based midfielder Nihat Kahveci.

The Black Stars rallied and grabbed the equaliser through Borussia Dortmund striker Matthew Amoah on the hour mark.

Ghana's Serbian coach Ratomir Dujkovic fielded his strongest team since Ghana beat Cape Verde 4-0 last October to qualify for the World Cup.

The likes of Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Sammy Kuffuor and captain Stephen Appiah were all in action.

The Black Stars take on Jamaica in England on Monday as they continue their preparations towards to the World Cup.

Ghana will play the United States, Italy and the Czech Republic in their Group F games at the World Cup.
