Klinsmann and Loew celebrate Germany's achievement |
Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann was full of praise for his side after they ended their World Cup campaign with a 3-1 win over Portugal. "It is unbelievable what this team has achieved," he said after the emphatic victory in the third-place play-off.
"Every one of them has worked so hard, I just can't find words for it,"
Regarding his future, Klinsmann said: "So much has happened in last few weeks and I haven't taken it all on board yet. Give me a few days."
Assistant coach Joachim Loew agreed with Klinsmann's sentiments.
"It's an indescribable feeling to see the way the people are celebrating this here," he said.
"It's hard to imagine a bigger party even if we had won the World Cup.
"We're delighted that we've accomplished what we have against all the resistance."
Germany defender Christoph Metzelder added: "It was a lot of fun, a lot of fun to win 3-1. It's a good conclusion to a great World Cup.
"It was the fans who really lifted us the last two days. We didn't expect to get such a great welcome here in Stuttgart. They made us really hot for the match.
"Tomorrow on the Brandenburg Gate will be a big highlight we're looking forward to," he added of Sunday's return to Berlin where they will greet fans at the Fan Mile.
