England international Scott was the first to hit the bar for the Toffees
Everton hit the woodwork three times as they were held to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Women's Champions League last-32 tie with MTK Hungaria.
England midfielder Jill Scott struck the crossbar with a 20-yard effort before striking the post with a header.
And just before the interval in Budapest Michelle Hinnigan side-footed a Jody Handley cross against the post.
The Hungarians came into the game after the break but visiting goalkeeper Rachel Brown was never extended.
"It was a tough game against a team that stuck to their game plan and made us work hard," said Everton manager Mo Marley.
"They'll probably come to us with a similar plan, defending and trying to hit us on the break, and we'll probably have to be a bit cuter to open them up.
"But if we can do that then hopefully we can get a goal or two and make home advantage count."
The second leg is set to take place at the Stobart Halton Stadium in Widnes on Thursday, 14 October with a 2000 BST kick-off.
