Sunderland Ladies continued their impressive league form with a 6-0 rout of Reading Ladies in the Women's Premier League North on Sunday.
The game was all but over by half time with the home side 5-0 up, with Sophie Williams (two), Kelly McDougall, Jordan Nobbs and Lucy Staniforth on target.
Abby Holmes then netted in the second half to ease the Wearsiders to victory.
The win leaves the ladies two points behind leaders Lincoln, with three games in hand.
Meanwhile, Sunderland goalkeeper Helen Alderson has been selected for an England women's under-23s training camp.
Coach Brent Hills took a squad of 18 to La Manga, in Spain, on Friday and will stay there until Saturday, 7 February as they begin their preparations for 2009.
