A 9-0 midweek trouncing of Fulham kept Arsenal top and the Cottagers rock bottom of the Women's Premier League.

Chelsea 1-2 Charlton Athletic

England striker Eni Aluko raced through the Chelsea defence to open the scoring just before half-time with her eighth goal in four matches.

Aluko's strike partner Natasha Dowie doubled the Addicks' lead from a narrow angle on the hour.

Nina Downham pulled a goal back with a low shot 20 minutes from time, but despite a valiant effort Chelsea were unable to force a late equaliser.
