Blackburn Rovers 5-0 Sunderland
Striker Barr, trying to force her way back into the England starting line-up, did her chances no harm with three well-taken goals as Rovers kick-started their season.
Sarah McCrea and Katie Anderton also put their names on the scoresheet for the newly-promoted team.
Fulham 0-1 Leeds United
After a string of heavy defeats, Fulham produced a battling performance but could not force an equaliser after Natalie Preston's 63rd-minute goal.
