York boss Gary Mills releases midfielder Danny Racchi
York City have released midfielder Daniel Racchi with immediate effect after the player requested a move.
The 23-year-old has struggled to make an impact and has featured in only two of the last ten games.
He joined the club initially on a three month loan from Wrexham before signing a permanent deal in January 2011.
Manager Gary Mills told BBC Radio York: "Danny Racchi thought he should be in my side. I thought he shouldn't so he's no longer with us."
Mills added: "I can't be any clearer than that. He's expressed that he should be playing in my team and I've expressed that I don't think he should and he's no longer with us.
"When I first came he was lively and I thought he'd done well for us. That fizzled out a little bit and he was in and out with his form. Subsequently he didn't play as many games as he would like."
Racchi started his career with Huddersfield Town and he spent the previous two seasons at Bury.
