Carruthers will play against Oxford for the first time since joining York
York City midfielder Chris Carruthers says he will have extra incentive in the Blue Square Premier play-off final against former club Oxford at Wembley.
Carruthers joined City from Oxford earlier this season, initially on loan.
The 26-year-old told BBC Radio York: "Whenever you go back and play a team that you previously played for there's always going to be a slight edge.
"But once the whistle goes for the start it's going to be like any ordinary game."
He added: "I just want to try and get the best result I can."
The game is the closest York City have come to returning to the Football League since they were relegated to the Conference in 2004.
It's just another tough game we have to get our minds set for and get focussed on

Carruthers said: "This league is very difficult to get out of. So that is a massive prize and I think that's the reason why everyone is so focussed on getting the job done.
"I was lucky enough to win a play-off final there before with Bristol Rovers.
"It's a terrific day. It was another big prize getting into League One at the time and it really is career changing.
"I think a lot of the lads here do realise that and that's why everyone is so focussed.
"When you're going out and you see the big stadium - and it is a terrific stadium and it's brilliant to play football there - but at the end of the day it's just another tough game we have to get our minds set for and get focussed on.
"We've got terrific team spirit. One of the best since I was at Bristol Rovers I've probably known to be honest.
"I think the way we've performed this season as well has stood us in good stead for some tough games that we've had and I think it will drag us through again."
