Foyle will try to fine-tune his side in a friendly at Halifax on Saturday
York City manager Martin Foyle has told his players they still have work to do after their 3-1 pre-season friendly defeat by Rotherham.
However Foyle told BBC Radio York there were still plenty of positives to take from the performance.
"It looked a tired performance but credit to the players, they've worked very hard on a lot of forward play.
"That was a pleasing thing but what let us down was at the other end and it was poor defending," he said.
"But you come away with some positives to take out but if we defend like that you don't give yourself any chance.
"It was a good game so we'll rub ourselves down and look forward to a hard day on Thursday."
We've got a behind-closed-doors game on Monday now just to give the others a little bit extra before we start

Foyle said generally he was happy and the defeat was not a concern.
"There were one or two looking tired but that's no excuse. Clearances have got to be better and there was quite a few balls going out and throw ins were short," he said.
"But I've plenty to ponder on and don't worry about the result. Sometimes this is the right thing in pre-season and again plenty of hard work ahead of us."
Foyle said there was also good news about winger Craig Nelthorpe, who had been ill, and new signings Jimmy Sangare and Michael Gash.
"Craig Nelthorpe has come in and done a bit of training for the first time. He's got the all-clear, he's not got glandular fever which was a big worry," he said.
"Michael Gash and Jimmy Sangare, they've had two hard sessions yesterday and two very hard sessions today. They've had no reaction from their ankles so do we include them Saturday (in the friendly against Halifax)?
"We've got a behind closed doors game on Monday now just to give the others a little bit extra before we start."
