York City's teenage striker Adam Boyes has been called into the England C team for next week's friendly with Malta Under-21s.
The 18-year old has been called up from the contingency squad into the 16 that will fly to Malta on Sunday ready for the game on Tuesday.
York City manager Martin Foyle told BBC Radio York he is delighted for Boyes.
"It's brilliant. Whether or not he plays, I think it's an honour playing for your country," he said.
However, City defender Ben Purkiss has pulled out of the squad because of a stomach muscle injury which has also kept him out of York's recent matches.
