Break not the answer for Foyle

Martin Foyle
Foyle's York City side are starting to build up a backlog of fixtures

York City manager Martin Foyle does not believe a mid-season break would be a benefit in the Blue Square leagues.

Frozen pitches have given Foyle's men an enforced break recently, with games in a week called off, but he told BBC Radio York a break would not help.

"I don't think at this level you can," he said. "There's just so many games."

"You're looking at probably 60 games a season which I think is ridiculous at this level. Also, what you've got is big travelling on top," he added.

"You look at the teams that might be going down, the likes of Bournemouth and Luton, and you think that [travelling] could be even more."
