York City plan to appoint their new manager before the transfer window opens at the start of January. Caretaker-boss Colin Walker is being given the chance to land the job, as well as other applicants, following the sacking of Billy McEwan last month.
Communications director Sophie McGill told the York Press: "Ideally, we will be making an announcement on the new manager prior to Christmas.
"We've had around 50 applications and we are analysing each one as it comes."
