York City will give caretaker manager Colin Walker the chance to land the job on a full-time basis. Walker took charge following the sacking of Billy McEwan with the side languishing 19th in the Blue Square Premier and out of the FA Cup.
"We have made it clear that Colin Walker does have an opportunity," said communications director Sophie McGill.
"We will be taking our time while giving our support to Colin, who wants the job as well."
The Minstermen who crashed out of the FA Cup to Havant and Waterlooville in one of the shocks of the first round will also be assessing other applicants as they look for Billy McEwan's permanent replacement.
