Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton has signed a new two-and-a-half year contract with the League One outfit.

Skiverton, 35, stepped up to the Huish Park helm in January 2009 following the departure of Russell Slade and recently celebrated his 100th game in charge.

He described the deal as "real positive news" for the club, who are struggling at the wrong end of the table two points above the relegation zone.

Skiverton's assistant Nathan Jones also signed a deal that runs for 30 months.

"There were more questions than answers when we first took over," Skiverton told BBC Somerset.

"But we've proved to people that we're radical, competent and know what we're talking about and we're putting the right wheels in motion to make sure the team's competing.

"We've done that now consistently for the last couple of seasons and we're enjoying doing that."

Skiverton, a club stalwart, joined Yeovil in 1999 and made 383 appearances as a player helping them go from non-league to League One before becoming manager.
