Yeovil Town manager Russell Slade will hold talks with a midfielder this week as he seeks to strengthen his squad.
The Glovers are short of options in the middle of the park, having released Anthony Barry and Stephen Maher.
In addition Matt Rose is out of contract and Marc Bircham is still troubled by injury.
"I'm meeting with a midfielder and hopefully we can persuade him that Yeovil is a good place to play his football," said Slade.
The Glovers have already recruited winger Danny Schofield on a free transfer from Huddersfield this summer.
But Rose, Steve Mildenhall and Marcus Stewart have yet to agree new deals and their current contracts expire at the end of this month.
"There's a lot of managers in the same boat," added Slade. "We're looking to get a squad which is workable for us and if some players have to leave then so be it.
"We've released one or two already and there may be one or two other that follow suit. But we are continually in dialogue with representatives of other players as well."
