Skiverton keen on new Yeovil deal

Captain Terry Skiverton says he would love to sign a new contract with Yeovil and end his career at Huish Park.

The Glovers are set to open talks with Skiverton, Steve Mildenhall, Matthew Rose and Marcus Stewart over new deals.

Defender Skiverton, 32, told BBC Somerset: "I want to play for Yeovil. The quicker we get something sorted out, I'll be happy to stay.

"I want to see out my career at Yeovil Town. I think everybody knows by now that I absolutely love this place."

He added: "I love the club. The manager's been great to me. I've got a great rapport with the fans and next year will be my testimonial year if we sort something out."

Skiverton, who scored an injury time winner against Northampton on Tuesday, was quick to praise boss Russell Slade's man-management skills before the game.

Skiverton said: "He pulled me before the game and told me to relax.

"He said 'I can see it in your face that you're wanting to do too well'. He said 'just relax and think of things that make you relax and why you're doing it'.

"To be fair, it was a masterstroke and it must have worked because I popped up with the goal."
