Dempsey played 29 times for Aberdeen last season |
Yeovil have moved to capture Aberdeen midfielder Gary Dempsey, and he has signed a two-year contract. The Irishman, 26, moved to Pittodrie in April 2005, but turned down a new deal and was a long-term Yeovil target.
Glovers boss Russell Slade will add Dempsey to his midfield ranks after losing out-of-contract pair Paul Terry and Jean-Paul Kalala.
The duo both recently joined Yeovil's League One rivals - Terry is at Leyton Orient, while Kalala joined Oldham.
Terry moved on 14 June after claiming contract negotiations came to a "standstill".
"I'm truly disappointed that I'm not going to be a Yeovil player next season," he said.
"It all came about quite suddenly really. I've been in negotiations with Yeovil for quite a while now and it just seemed to come to a standstill. It just wasn't finalised.
"Leyton Orient showed a real keen interest in me, and when someone shows that much interest in you and makes a real big effort, it's hard not to have a look and see what they have to say."
Dempsey joins fellow agreed signing Paul Warne in agreeing to move to Huish Park.
