Kalala helped Yeovil to the League One play-off final last season |
Oldham Athletic have signed DR Congo midfielder Jean-Paul Kalala from League One rivals Yeovil Town, where he was out of contract. The 25-year-old has signed a two-year contract at Boundary Park.
Kalala left Nice to join Grimsby in 2005, and scored the Mariners' winning goal as they knocked Tottenham out of the League Cup in September that year.
He followed boss Russell Slade to Yeovil last summer, making 42 senior appearances while with the Glovers.
Kalala, who has won six caps for his country, joins fellow new signings Mark Crossley, John Thompson and Craig Davies at Boundary Park.
He moves in the opposite direction to versatile midfielder or forward Paul Warne, who was released by the Latics and has agreed to join Yeovil.
Former West Brom striker Lee Hughes is also set to join Oldham following his release from prison this summer.
