Wrexham set for judgement night

Wrexham manager Brian Little
Little says that his side have targeted this week's fixtures

Wrexham boss Brian Little has admitted that the loser of Tuesday's Mansfield versus Wrexham game is unlikely to avoid relegation from League Two.

The Dragons are one point behind Mansfield at the foot of the table, with Notts County a further seven points clear in the safety zone.

"We have to be honest enough to accept the consensus of opinion that the loser is likely to go down," said Little.

"But there can't be a greater incentive than that and we're capable of a win."

Wrexham have a game in hand over Mansfield and between two and three extra games over their other relegation rivals, and on Saturday the Dragons host fellow strugglers Macclesfield.

"If we can win on Tuesday it will give us an incredible boost for Macclesfield," Little told BBC Sport Wales.

"We've knows for a few weeks that we need to win two in a row to catch the teams above us, if we can't do that then the writing is on the wall.

Win both matches and we're right on people's tails, it's not out of our control yet

Brian Little

"We're not giving up. Our motto is to do whatever it takes to avoid the drop.

"We have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot with individual errors.

"We've shown that when we go in front we're difficult to beat, but if we slip behind - being bottom of the table - people quickly lose belief.

"We've targeted this week, it's given us something to aim for. Win both matches and we're right on people's tails, it's not out of our control yet."
