Wrexham suffer Jones injury blow
Wrexham midfielder Mark Jones has been plagued by injuries
Wrexham midfielder Mark Jones has been plagued by injuries
Wrexham's fight for Football League survival took a double battering on Saturday as star midfielder Mark Jones was injured in the 1-0 loss at Grimsby.

"I think it's a torn hamstring," Jones said. "I was running and I just felt it snap and I went down.

"I'm not really sure how long I'll be out, we'll just have to see in the next couple of days."

Wrexham physio Mel Pejic will assess the injury on Monday, but Jones is likely to be out for four to six weeks.

Jones, 24, suffered a back injury earlier in the season and has needed a series of surgeries on persistent knee injuries over his career.

The defeat at Grimsby leaves Wrexham still anchored to the foot of League Two, six points from safety.
