Matt Derbyshire will remain at Wrexham until the end of the season after Blackburn Rovers agreed to extend his loan to a third month. But since emergency loan deals can last no longer than three months under Football League rules, Derbyshire would not be eligible for the play-offs.
The 19-year-old striker has scored nine goals in just 10 League Two games for the Dragons.
Wrexham have six more league games to play this season.
